HELL HOUSE AMERICAN WHISKEY

When the co-founders of this explosive spirit, partnered with legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, came to DS Creatives Agency they were in need of a full turn-key package to bring this brand to life. Having familiarity with Lynyrd Skynyrd's epic history, our team crafted a unique direction that would prove to attract not only life-long fans of the music but Whiskey lovers as a whole.
We wanted to take a direction that literally brought the lyrics of the iconic hits to life; to tell the legendary story of the band in an accurate, informational, yet entertaining fashion while placing a highlight on the "rugged roots" of their brand new Whiskey.
CHALLENGE 1: Tell the brand story of a 50+ year legacy in a way that respectfully preserves and expands the legend.
CHALLENGE 2: Visually merge the past, present, and future in a way that truly relates to our audience.
PROJECT: THE ORIGINS
At the anchor of our creative campaign is The Origins. We worked to replicate a glimpse into what a day of practice at the band's "Hell House" may have looked like. Archives from this event barely exist so with extensive research and planning, we decided to make our own.

Detailed casting to locate look-a-likes, sourcing the actual guitars from the band, reconstructing a decrepit shack to replicate the Hell House, and locating authentic costumes were all challenges. We captured this entire shoot on both digital and Super 8 film formats for authenticity.
When the band is gone, their spirit lives on.
Another main goal was to shed light on, and form a community around, the American threads of this country; The Blue Collar working class individuals that make the Big Wheels turn. The Simple Man if you will. We identified that this proud community values patriotism, family, legacy, generational connection, and authenticity. One of our favorite campaigns did just that by inviting followers in to the Hell House Whiskey story with a user generated push built on the hashtag, #MyHellHouse.

This consisted of two emotional video concepts titled "The Simple Man" and "Generations", accompanied by familiar tunes.

This includes concept and copywriting, commercial and lifestyle content creation, product photography, digital advertising across 6 platforms, social media strategy and management, email marketing, and event activation conceptualization and planning. From bottle signing events to television commercials and everything in between, we are proud to represent Hell House Whiskey. ​
